  • Do*Mar Doctoral Programme s Summer School endorsed by the Ocean Decade

The Summer School on oceanographic observation, promoted by the Doctoral Program in Marine Science, Technology and Management (Do*Mar), was endorsed as an activity of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. This activity will take place from July 10 to 19, 2022, at the University of Aveiro. Each year, UNESCO endorses activities and/or actions that fall under the goals of the United Nations Decade of Oceans Science for Sustainable Development 2021-2030 (Ocean Decade). The decade offers a unique opportunity for nations to jointly produce science needed to support sustainable ocean development. Through the Global Stakeholder Forum you can submit an Activity idea for official endorsement, making it part of global efforts to create the ocean we want. Decade Activities are standalone initiatives such as events, exhibitions, conferences, training opportunities, publications or products specially-developed for the Ocean Decade. To be officially endorsed, Activities only need to show how they contribute to the Decade Challenges or to specific Programmes, Projects or Contributions. Ideas can be submitted at any time at: https://www.oceandecade.org/sign-up/ Learn more about the Do*Mar Summer School.
