First presential meeting of COASTAL project held at University of Aveiro

The meeting of the project COASTAL – MiCrofluidic sensOrs for rApid detection of marine toxins in SusTainable AquacuLture, funded by EEAGRANTS, took place on 19 and 20 September at the University of Aveiro.
This meeting allowed to assess the status of the various tasks of the project, enabling the different partners to present the work developed during the first months and to plan the next activities to be developed.
The COASTAL project gathers a multidisciplinary team of experts in the field of micro and nanofabrication of biological and chemical sensors, electrochemistry and analytical chemistry, who are working on the development of new approaches for the detection of PST (Paralytic Marine Toxins) in bivalve molluscs. The project promoter is the University of Aveiro with the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) playing the role of partner in Portugal. The following Norwegian entities also participate in this project: the SINTEF MiNaLab and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).
