Mário Ruivo Memorial Lecture - EXTENDED DEADLINE

Early Career Ocean Professionals (up to 40 years of age) invited to pay tribute to Professor Mário Ruivo through their outstanding projects.

Travel and accommodation will be sponsored for the winning applicant to present her/his research at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France, in front of Governments, partners and stakeholders at the 32nd Session of the IOC/UNESCO Assembly (June 2023). This new opportunity for ECOPs will be available every two years.

Endorsed by the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, this initiative intends to stimulate and recognise ECOPs who are contributing in a substantive way to the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda - Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 14, ‘Life below water’, and to the vision and mission  of the Ocean Decade.
