The GestAqua.AdaPT project aims to develop and implement adaptation strategies to climate change in the water resources sector, particularly in the management of multipurpose reservoir systems. The case study of the project is centered at the water supply system of Águas do Centro Alentejo and includes the reservoirs of Monte Novo and Vigia, both subject to the adversities of the Mediterranean climate and with high potential to be affected by climate change.

The GestAqua.AdaPT project is developed under the AdaPT program, guided by the terms set out in the Memorandum of Understanding between Portugal, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein under the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area (EEA FM / EEA-Grants), this program is operated by the Portuguese Environment Agency as manager of the Portuguese Carbon Fund.
