Research interests

Ecology of deep-sea ecosystems, particularly processes regulating diversity and connectivity of benthic invertebrate communities;
Invertebrate larvae ecology, including larval dispersal mechanisms and settlement;
Mollusc shell biomineralization and incorporation of elements in shells and other calcified structures;
Evolution, phylogeny and taxonomy of chemosynthesis-based molluscs, in particular gastropods (Mollusca: Gastropoda) and bathymodiolin mussels (Bivalvia: Mytilidae: Bathymodiolinae);
Deep-ocean sustainable observations and evidence-based management of deep-sea resources.
