Recipe for premium serradela: aquaculture integrated with fish production
Published in 14/3/2018
A study carried out by CESAM concludes that the production of serradela in aquaculture associated with the intensive production of fish originates more nutritious and more abundant earthworms, contributing to the elimination of the excess of particulate organic matter in the water that results from the fish production. The serradela is one of the main baits in fishing and is used for fish food in aquaculture. The conclusions are set out in the scientific article titled "Adding value to ragworms (Hediste diversicolor) through the bioremediation of a super-intensive marine fish farm" highlighted as "Feature Article" in the February "Aquaculture Environment Interactions" journal.
