CESAM researchers are guest editors of Biomolecules - Lipids of Marine Algae

CESAM researchers Rosário Domingues and Ricardo Calado, from the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Biology (respectively), as well as co-founders of the Marine Lipidomics Laboratory at the University of Aveiro have been invited to edit the Special Issue "Lipids of Marine Algae" to be published by the journal Biomolecules (MDPI group).

The Special Issue "Lipids of Marine Algae" will address the  growing interest in the use of marine algae as a source of lipids with high nutritional value and  with bioactive properties, thus with potential application in various biotechnological and industrial uses (e.g., nutraceutical, cosmetic and pharmaceutical). Advancing the current knowledge of seaweeds lipidome will contribute to its whole valorization, being particularly relevant for the promotion of the sustainable use of these endogenous biological resources and promotion of Blue Bioeconomy.
