AMBIEnCE project receives important endorsement by the international project SOLAS
Published in 12/4/2019
The project AMBIEnCE - Impact of atmospheric multi-stressors to coastal marine systems in a changing climate scenario (PTDC/CTA-AMB/28582/2017) has just been endorsed by the international research project SOLAS (Surface Ocean - Lower Atmosphere Study), which is sponsored by GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research. The SOLAS project holds more than 2500 researchers from all over the world aiming to understand the key biogeochemical-physical interactions and feedbacks between the ocean and atmosphere. AMBIEnCE is a multidisciplinary research project aiming to assess the impact of atmospheric organic aerosols deposition on the molecular composition and reactivity of dissolved organic matter in different coastal marine systems, as well as exploring how the intrinsic chemical features of both organic aerosols and dissolved organic matter drive the bioavailability of atmospheric-derived trace metals in seawater. AMBIEnCE directly addresses the SOLAS core theme on “Atmospheric deposition and ocean biogeochemistry”. Additional details here.
