CESAM's researcher takes third place in Ecology Doctoral Award

The winners of the 2019 edition of the Doctoral Award in Ecology - Amadeu Dias Foundation, organized by SPECO - Portuguese Society of Ecology are already known. The top three will receive the award and will present their work at the 18th National Ecology Meeting, which this year will be held simultaneously with the 15th European Ecology Congress to be held from 29 July to 2 August at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.
Inês Gomes Teixeira, researcher at CESAM, won third place. In her doctoral thesis Inês developed tools to support the evaluation of the ecological coherence of marine protected areas, using the mussel as a model species and making important practical contributions to the current work at national level of the Marine Protected Areas network and for the planning of the national maritime space.
The award received 9 eligible doctoral candidates with thesis defended at the Universities of Lisbon, Coimbra, Aveiro and Minho.
