Scientific activities
Parasitic water-borne diseases in Afrotropical and Paleartic Regions, concerning the understanding of the ecological conditions that allow the maintenance of Schistosoma, Fasciola, Dicrocoelium and amphistomes life cycle and the transmission processes; regional distribution of snails, intermediate hosts, parasites and vertebrate populations; and the pathological expression of trematode infections on animal health.
Studies on Ixodida fauna in afrotropical and paleartic regions: systematic, distribution, vertebrate host relationships, and its role as vector-borne diseases.
The developed work consisted of field and laboratory studies, based on several missions to Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde Archipelago and Angola
