Katina Roumbedakis is a Brazilian/Greek researcher (ORCID: 0000-0002-5692-0725), with PhD (2019) and Master (2011) in Aquaculture by the Universidade Federal of Santa Catarina, Brazil, with PhD Stage at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Mexico. She is postdoc fellow linked to the Project Cephs and Chefs “Octopus, Squid, Cuttlefish, Sustainable Fisheries and Chefs” at the Centre for Environmental and Marine Studies (CESAM) and team member of the Coastal and Ocean Planning and Governance (COPING), Universidade de Aveiro, Portugal. She was research fellow at Università degli Studi del Sannio, Italy, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI). She is member of the Working Group on Cephalopod Fisheries and Life History of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). Along her career, Katina has collaborated with researchers from several institutions, organizing and teaching courses, supervising students and participating in evaluation committees and outreach activities. She has contributed in 12 research projects. She has published 16 manuscripts in ISI peer-reviewed journals and co-authored 5 book chapters (Google Scholar h-index 8; i10 index 7; 258 citations). Katina has peer-reviewed manuscripts for 6 ISI journals and participated as Guest Editor of a Special Issue on Impacts of COVID-19 on the fisheries sector. She has contributed for more than 40 communications in conferences and has been invited as speaker in 2 international conferences and member of scientific committee in 2 national conferences. She has participated of more than 20 training courses, including the "Cephalopod Biology and Care CBC2019" (FELASA accredited), and co-organized 5 short courses. She has been part of 6 thesis committees. Research interests include sustainable fisheries, marine conservation, traceability of seafood and animal welfare.
