Research interests

- Ecocytotoxicology and biomonitoring of natural aquatic environments
- Biological effects of metals, POPs, PAHs and emerging contaminants, i.e. microplastics and nanoparticles, on invertebrates and fish
- Application of environmental metabolomics and conventional biomarkers to disclose the mechanisms of pollutants toxicity in invertebrates and fish
- Application of environmental metabolomics and conventional biomarkers to gain novel and more comprehensive insights into adaptive and defencive mechanisms of aquatic biota under stress conditions
