Research interests

Environmental engineering and energy conversion and management.
Thermochemical biomass conversion processes and technologies, including fast
pyrolysis, carbonization, torrefaction, gasification, combustion and distillation.
Modeling and experimental work in the fields of chemical reactors, chemical kinetics, transport phenomena and thermodynamics.
Design, construction and test of facilities in the field of biomass conversion as well as related measurement methods and instrumentation.

Scientific activities

Since May 2017 - Post-Doc Researcher in the scope of the Integrated Programme of SR&TD “SusPhotoSolutions - Soluções Fotovoltaicas Sustentáveis” (reference CENTRO-01-0145-FEDER-000005).
Since March 2019 - Principal Investigator of the project "CHARCLEAN - Modernização tecnológica de fornos de carvão vegetal para torná-los mais limpos e eficientes visando uma economia resiliente ao fogo em áreas rurais Portuguesas" (reference PCIF/GVB/0179/2017).
