Research interests

● Development and implementation of less harmful and environmental friendly electro-analytical sensors for quantification and speciation analysis of trace metals in waters.

● Ecotoxicological risk assessment of environmental contamination (in soils and waters) and potential impacts to biota.

● Water remediation innovative technologies, with focus on low cost materials (agricultural residues, synthetic materials and living macroalgae).

● Synthesis and characterization of polymers, nanomaterials and supported ionic liquid phases.

● Development of materials to be applied as single and double layer filters for water demineralization and water purification, respectively.

Academic degrees

● Analytical Chemistry degree, 2003 - University of Aveiro.

● PhD in chemistry, 2009 - University of Aveiro.
