Short Bio

Paulino Vicente Muteto is Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Eduardo Mondlane University, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Chemistry (Mozambique), where he also held positions as head of the Analytical Chemistry Section and of the Chemistry Department. He has a PhD in Chemistry (2015) and MSc in Analytical Chemistry and Quality Control (2010) from University of Aveiro (Portugal), and a BSc in Pure and Applied Chemistry from Eduardo Mondlane University.
To date, his main projects are: Actions for the conservation and restoration of the aquatic environment of the Maputo and Beira estuaries in Mozambique, Production of biogas and bio fertilizers from invasive aquatic plants in the Limpopo - Mozambique watershed, Ocean acidification initiative in Mozambique and Assessment of acid drainage in coal and iron mines in Tete province – Mozambique; furthermore, an International research and collaboration partnerships between Sapienza University of Rome and Eduardo Mondlane University in the SECOSUD II Italian Cooperation Project “Conservation and equitable use of biological diversity in the SADC region” is carried out.
His main research interests are Chemical Sensors, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry, Water Resources Management: Monitoring, Preservation and Conservation of Aquatic Environments.
He has published 7 articles in peer reviewed international journals.
