Our findings will provide the first comprehensive analysis of plasmid diversity, distribution and putative eco-physiological functions of bacterial communities inhabiting marine sponges in coral reef ecosystems exposed to different levels of anthropogenic pollution. Furthermore, a strong biotechnological focus will be placed on the pool of isolated plasmids. Project Outputs: EcoTech-Sponge DATABANK (Metagenomics and Isolates)
