Interesses de investigação

My main areas of interest are environmental education (EE); EE in coastal areas; scientific diffusion; climate education; education on the connection diet-climate change; environmental education facilities and their connection with the communities.

2003-2005: MSc in Child Studies with specialization in Health and Environmental promotion, by the University of Minho (Braga – Portugal).

Atividades científicas

March 2017-present: Pos-doc grant from the Science and Technology Foundation (BPD/116379/2016) under the theme: “The action of environmental education facilities towards a decarbonization of lifestyles to face climate change: pedagogical intervention in the Euroregion of Eixo Atlântico (Northern Portugal and Galicia, Spain)”, supervised by the University of Santiago de Compostela and the University of Aveiro (Department of Biology).

2011-2015: PhD grant from the Science and Technology Foundation (SFRH/BD/69059/2010) under the theme: “Potencialidades e práticas de integração das dimensões sociocultural e biofísica em equipamentos para a educação ambiental: estudos de caso do Eixo Atlântico (Norte de Portugal e Galiza)”.

2007-2008: Research assistant in the project of the Ciência Viva Programme: “Planeta Mar” (a team work as environmental educator with students and public in general, in the Centre of Environmental Education and Interpretation (CMIA – Matosinhos - a partnership between the Interdisciplinar Centre of Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR - UP) and the Municipality of Matosinhos).

2002-2004: Research assistant at the Centre of Child Studies (Institute of Child Studies of the University of Minho (Braga), working in a project funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian, under the theme: “Competência para a Acção Pedagógica – Abordagem IVAM de educação ambiental e para a saúde: Investigação-Visão-Acção-Mudança na aquisição de competências pelos professores, e através deles, pelos alunos”.

1999-2000: Research assistant (and professional internship) at the Group of Environmental Studies of the School of Biotecnology of the Portuguese Catholic University (Porto), collaborating in the Ciência Viva project: Uma Agenda 21 para as Escolas do Próximo Século; and in the european project: ESSENCE - Network of Environmental Sciences (O reforço das Ciências Ambientais na Europa através de trabalho em Rede, Conferências e Educação), promovido pela Organização das Universidades Holandesas-VSNU.
