Main Research Interests



In the last years, I have developing my expertise in Microbiology and Genetics with focus on search for new antibacterial peptides produced by Bacteria in environments with high radioactivity. In my PhD, I have been focused in the characterization of a new Pedobacter ssp. with high biotechnological potential, especially regarding antibacterial activity. More specifically, I am focused on the isolation and characterization of antibacterial compounds (peptides and lipids) produced by P. lusitanus NL19 strain.
