Materaqua - Criação e Comercialização de Peixes, Lda Associação dos Produtores de Bivalves da Ria de Aveiro The present project aims to determine the microbiological profiles associated with fish [gilthead seabream (Sparus aurata) and seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax)] and bivalves [oyster (Ostrea edulis), cockle (Cerastoderma edule), and clams (Ruditapes decussata and Venerupis pullastra)] produced in Ria de Aveiro and compared them with those displayed by wild conspecifics and those farmed in other locations through the use of molecular tools. This methodology will allow us to implement traceability protocols, being the first step towards the development of origin certification.
