2005 - Degree in Biology, scientific area, University of Coimbra (Portugal)

Areas of Scientific Research

Aquatic ecology and ecotoxicology

Research interests

Study the ecological effects of the anthropogenic and natural stressors on aquatic organisms.
Assess ecotoxicological effects of chemical and microbial insecticides on aquatic organisms
Understand the micro-evolutionary potential and ecological consequences of historical contamination.
Investigate how micro-evolutionary responses of a population can be altered by additional immunological stress.
Study patterns and processes of parasitism: disease susceptibility, impact on host, interaction with multiple stress factors.
Studies using model ecosystems (mesocosms) to generate more ecologically relevant assessments.
