Edna Correia is one of the distinguished researchers in the 18th edition of the L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science

Edna Correia was selected, among more than 72 candidates, by a scientific jury, and received a prize of 15 thousand euros as an incentive to her research and work developed in the environmental area. Her project aims to answer the question can the Tagus Estuary rice fields provide food for humans and be home to other species?

The L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science annually award four young Portuguese researchers, under the age of 35, who have distinguished themselves by the projects they are developing in the field of health and environmental sciences.

This year the L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science distinguished 4 young Portuguese scientists in the areas of cancer, microcephaly, addictive behaviors and waterfowl preservation.
