Post-graduation in Rural & Land Ecology Survey by the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (ITC), The Netherlands, in 1986. MSc in Biology, specialisation Ecology, by the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 1988. PhD in Sciences, specialisation Biology, by the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2000.
